Summer Solstice.

Yesterday was officially the first day of summer.

On our calendar, summer starts the very first Monday after the last day of school. No alarm clocks, no packing lunches and no apparent bedtimes. Only swimming at friend's houses, picnic lunches and spontaneous trips to the beach allowed.

Our trip to North Salmon Creek today was the best kick-off ever. We saw surfers, found cool drift wood, got numb toes from the Northern California water, and Minna only ate a little bit of sand.

The season has begun.

What are you gonna do on your first day of summer this year?
