Another...

So I am hoping that this will be my last lazy-style update.
I have piles of pictures and so many little stories to tell that deserve real posts.

Until then...

We took that sad, sad walk.

The one through our bitty airport to put Grandpa on a plane.
What a sweet visit we had.
Having our people here is unbelievably special.

Very hard to see them go.

Then, there was more market.
Lots of interest in Sully's salmon stencil on painted wood blocks.
(Lovely, right?)

Fly tying.

And fly-fishing.
So... Many... Fish.
I don't really help at all with the process either.
Just the cooking and eating parts.

River crossings that Minna can do herself.
The water is low and lingering.
(So are the bears it seems from some tracks we saw.)

This is the third summer that Minna has worn this dress.
Hope she can wear it at least 5 more.
Summer color and twirly at it its prettiest.

Critters happy and gearing up for the fair.
Care for a blue ribbon, Hazel?

Or one for Gail, perhaps?

Embroidery is happening.
Most days its just a few stitches here and there.
These callas are so close to being finished
that I should be finishing it right this second instead of typing.

So close!
It will happen.

Happy mid-week to you!

Up To Date.

I keep thinking I am posting more here.
Then I look at the date of my last post and realize I am not at all!

I  like these quick updates though.

Here is another...

Full day playdates.

More market.

One of us on the road for a LONG trip on two wheels.

Really, we are all on the road.

Walks.

A neighborhood birthday party.

Father's Day, celebrated early.

Our own birthday girl.
(Celebrating late, when Dad gets back with Grandpa!)

B-day boots.

Embroidery.

Wind, a couple of girls and lupine soup making.
(I'm pretty sure its not a real thing. People keep asking though.)

River when it's nice out.
Sometimes it gets nice at 10:00pm.
We will be there.

Yo.

Ducks are doing great.

As are all the other critters.

Skies clearing.
And we woke up to 60 plus degrees this morning.

River anyone?

Ducks And Market.

This Summer is proving itself to be the most creative to date.

We have a fun farmer's market on Saturday's during
June, July and August.
Sully sold a few flies last year
and all three kiddos wanted to get in on the fun this season.

So the making began.

Painted rocks, prints of original watercolor art,
popsicle stick bookmarks and embroidery.
It all made for an awfully pretty market table.

Some of my 365 made the cut and was allowed on the table too.
(Thanks kids.)
I painted a few hoops and sold a few.
Very exciting for me. Very.
I do have to fight the urge to just give them away though.

The boys stood with their hands in their pockets, waiting patiently.
They talked quietly but confidently about their work.
Hands tucked in all the while.

Minna liked helping people look through her bookmarks and rocks.
She kept tucking her hair behind her ears over and over.
So cute. Hard to resist, I'm sure.

And right next to our table, were ducks.
I said from the beginning that we were NOT leaving with a duck.
Turns out they are very social and need a buddy.
You can't just get one.

So, we left with two.

What else in the world would I spend my market profits on anyhow?

 Right?

Best impulse buy ever.

this moment and some notes

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

We had a busy and kind of exciting week.

We were out of doors a lot. (Some feathery ones did the opposite.)

Much progress happening in the little house out back. Someday, I will compile photos of the transformative journey that thing has been through to share. I mostly can't remember what phase it is in at a given moment.

I shared some embroidery with many supportive folks on the island. More on that next week. (It was awesome.)

We had dry, sunny days that were still very chilly, but more the Spring kind of chilly. The chilly that is freezing to me, but warm to the kids. The coat/no coat battles are beginning again.

Spring must really be here. Hello.

Happy Friday!
