So, here in Kodiak we don't have the same Summer indicators as we did in California. The seasons seem to blend almost seamlessly. In California you knew Summer had arrived as it was obvious with the heat and Summery smells and grass turning gold and bees buzzing.
Here, we are newly covered in the rich green leaves (love it) that California looses to high temps, end of Spring. It isn't Summer-warm and won't ever get sticky hot out here. We do have some buzzing. Mosquito buzzing to be exact. Not used to him as a Summer constant, but he is a sign.
Plus, the layers are coming off. My acclimated kids feel it's definitely Summer and we got bare legs and feet all the time.
There it is. The tried and true Summer sign, from California to Kodiak, is the skinned up, bump and bruise sprinkled bare legs of my littles. These busy Summer legs never escape Summer untouched.
So, yes indeed. It is Summer.
Happy Monday!
you are an out of the box thinker and I love that about you! Trish
