A Glimpse and "This Moment".

Yes, Friday afternoon. Nice weather, home for the evening and a fun weekend ahead. Not a bad ending to a hectic week. I am prepping for a bridal shower this weekend and the house is covered in flowers, cards, sprinkles and icing.

Gonna be fun and pretty I hope...

Notice I didn't mention THREADLINGS even one time the past few days! Can't believe I was too busy to promote myself. Maybe next week. I must mention now though that I have made 6 sales! Which is a whopping 6 more than I dreamed possible. Thanks everybody! Oh I am loved...

I will leave you with my SouleMama-inspired-moment of the week.

Oh, those boys of mine...

Have a lovely weekend!

A Little Stressed, But Dapper All The While.

Wow. Is the week really almost over? When I have to ask myself that I know that we have been overloaded a bit. Real time, grown-up life consumed most of our week. Not much playing or making going on. Not enough anyway. Job worries, interviews, school conferences and bits of this and that made this week fly with very few moments to stop and enjoy it.

Grown up worries aside, look at this dapper gentlemen and his cheery spring tie. I'd hire him in a heartbeat! Wouldn't you?

We are so lucky he works so hard to take care of us.
(Pssst-I think I am a darn lucky lady too because this man can wear a suit!)

Tomorrow I get to meet a dear friend for coffee and we are going to walk on over to the local quilt shop I stumbled upon! Looking at pretty fabric can lift any worried spirit. The fabric shop just happens to be quite near the yarn shop.

Hmmm? Might have to stop in there too.

After all, it's been a long week.

Hope yours has been good so far...

Oh Yeah, It's Spring Out Here...

You know it's Spring out here when;

pretty flowers are on the doorstep,

and you spot bare legs and sweet little skinned knees everywhere you look,

and when you are doing lot's of this kind of thing...oh it's here and you are in it.

Welcome Spring and Happy Monday!

Wordless Weekend? Nope...

I am shamelessly breaking the Wordless Weekend code just to say,

"I did it!"

THREADLINGS is now open for business! There are 7 little items up for grabs, all handmade and dreamt up by yours truly. This week I will talk about each item a bit and give myself a plug here and there. Again, shameless!

It was really fun and scary at the same time. The prospect of selling what you make is really exciting. On the other hand, a zillion exceptionally amazing creators are out there doing the same. Needless to say, it's intimidating to throw a $4.00 tissue case amidst $200.00 knitted shawls and hand stitched leather purses and boots that rival designer brands.

Still pretty neat though:)

Check THREADLINGS out if you are browsing Etsy and please tell me if you or other brave souls you know have spaces over there too. I would love to see your cool stuff.

Happy weekend to you!

This Moment.

This is what goes on every Friday over at SouleMama-

"{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see."

Here is mine for the week and it is actually occurring as I type this...

(I really do have to savor these nappy-nursing moments, she is growing up so fast.)

What are you up to this weekend?

I will be over at THREADLINGS, hint, hint...

Enjoy your Almost-Spring Friday!

A Hand-y Shamrock.

Our St. Patty's Day tradition started when Sullivan was in Kindergarten several years ago.

I had not a stitch of green clothing or fabric or felt in the house! Nothing to send him to school with a touch of green. Not even green food coloring in the pantry, nothing! But we DID have green markers...

The boys couldn't believe that I said it was O.K. to draw on themselves! (Non-toxic, washable ink of course.) Soon we had little green four-leaf clovers on our hands and growing up our arms. The tradition has morphed into a single lucky clover on one hand and as simple as it sounds, it's still tradition and we take it very seriously.

Even Pepper The Cat would miss them each year if we didn't do it.

Well, we have green shirts this year and I have green felt all over the place. In my growing stash of fabric is lots and lots of pretty green. But it's just not St. Patrick's Day out here if we don't take the time to kiss our hands with our version of a good luck charm.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody!

Back To Business...

Happy Tuesday!

I actually uploaded this picture late, late last night. I sat down to write a lil' something up for a Monday post but was interrupted by a sweet, sleepy little girl wanting to nurse. Turns out this big girl was also sleepy and never made it back to the computer.

Anyway, back to business. No more Happy Birthday partying or cake eating, (Happy Birthday J!) and it's time to stop ignoring laundry to play with Dad while he was home this weekend.

Now it is time to talk shop. What is this below you ask?

It's the staging area and props I used for some picture taking I did this weekend. I was taking shots of stuff for THREADLINGS in preparation for a limited grand opening this Saturday. I am still going to go through with it even though I didn't get half the stuff completed that I originally planned.

So far I have seven items to post and I had so much fun photographing them. I really have no idea what I am doing but I am giddy nonetheless. We will see what happens. Jeff and I keep joking that we will be able to retire early because of my tissue cases. Heck, why not?

This coming week holds much talk of THREADLINGS and the little bits that I have made so stay tuned!

Your week off to a busy-but-good start too?

This Moment.

I am busily stitching up some yummy purple flowers but I paused just long enough to share my special weekly moment. (Go over here to see who else is sharing theirs.)

Happy Friday!

Not Before OR After.

I don't think there will be a virtual tour of the house. I was so excited to show you some "before and after" shots. Those are fun aren't they? But I can't because the "afters" are not ready yet. Still not done. I have some hanging organizers to fashion for a chair and a boring old cork board to cover and hang. The details you know?

Besides, I have been far too busy picking this stuff out.

And cutting these.

Then arranging the results. I am diggin' it.

Plus, a little place called THEADLINGS is opening up in like a week and a half! Whoa! I have a lot of making and photographing to do...gulp.

So finishing touches on my craft corner will have to wait.
I am just too busy using it.

Can't wait for dinner tonight when very special people get to come over and see the place in person! Finally!

Enjoy your Thursday.

Monday Crazies Update...

A crazy spot of rain just blasted us and the car seat outside. Good. I would say it was 99% dry before the onslaught. Back to wet now but we are still smiling. Oooo the present looks pretty plus we got a double rainbow...

Carry on.

Girl, Erupted.

So if the first thing you do bright and early Monday morning is drop something into the toilet...

Do you know what kind of day is ahead?

As of yet, things are following suit. The surprising part is the mood around here is still very light and cheerful. Shows ya it's all how you decide to handle things.

After the make-up brush dive into the toilet incident, we had a very violent car-sick tummy incident. My poor girl had a bunch of milk and promptly lost it all in the car about 20 minutes from home. I am talkin' volcanic proportions here. "Wow", that was all I could muster. I had to remove the car seat, tear it apart, wash, detail, dry and get it all assembled and safely back in the car before big brother needed to be picked up from school. Minna had to sit in a damp seat for a while but I think she was happy it was just water this time, blech.

The seat is happily sunning itself outside now and should be good as new before biggest brother needs to be picked up too. Phew!

Anyway, we are still in a good mood because the sun is out and we have a family birthday party to go to tonight. Plus, I am having lots of fun putting the gift together.

(Here is a sneak peak Kim, betcha can't guess what it is...)

So here's to beatin' the Monday crazies, toilet bowl fishin' and all.

Happy Monday!

That Was Fun and "This Moment..."

I had some spare time to fold and organize in our craft/office today.

I am slowly accumulating a fabric stash and I am now fully aware of the joy that fabric brings. I am on my way to joining the huge population of textile addicts.

And because I always love to see how people live and organize their rooms, especially sewing rooms or studios, I am going to show you mine next week. I am finally feeling like things are put away out here and I am ready to give a tour of a few of the rooms. Maybe there will be a few "before and afters"...

Also for next week, I am going to start playing along with SouleMama on Fridays and post a special moment captured during the week that tugs at my heart and has to be remembered for always. I feel it ties in nicely with my wordless weekends so here is my first with few words, just to kick things off...

I turned around to find that my girl had lugged her little chair in from down the hall to make a perfect table for herself out of a half collapsed ironing board. She was busy talking softly and organizing some clothespins in her jammies. Oh that sweet little voice under that warm sun...

You have any moments like that this week? Hope so.

Have a great weekend!

There The Skunk Scarf Sits...

...and there it shall sit for a bit.

I have some other things to make, organize,

and of all things...

...carve. Yes, carve.

You have a good Wednesday?
