This Moment.
{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
-Amanda Soule (SouleMama)
This week has been busy! Lots of indoor creating/goofing off going on. We have had so many fun moments even though we are missing somebody. J is away for school and a quick visit to see family. Hope he doesn't melt in temps above 40 degrees.
Check out this moment from March 31st, last year....
I am amazed looking at this and then looking out the window. We can't even see those rocks because they are covered in 3 feet of snow still! It is slowly melting away as I am sure, Jeff is right now. We all want him to hurry home to stomp in puddles with us.
The melt has created many new lakes around town that will have to be included on updated maps. Just huge bodies of water. Huge! I look forward to seeing the ground. I know it is coming, I can't help wishing it to hurry too, sometimes.
So, in whatever phase of thaw you are experiencing,
happy happy weekend to you!

Spring Break Snippets-Part 4
Play, snow and sky.
I rearranged our little writing desk and filled the drawer with scraps and papers and old cards. I named it the "collage drawer" and it's been a big hit.
So much so, that it is always on the floor with projects all around it. Easy clean-up though. Throw it all back in and slide it in place.
Got a beautiful set of hooks from a friend to organize Minna's bags and dress-up clothes. (More on that later.)
Took a walk and had a tubing sesh under this sky. So windy and cold, but worth it. We realized that day, that Sully probably needs a snowboard. And that Colyer, doesn't need anything...
That wraps up our Spring Break snippets! We did some other things that may get a post of their own. I sure liked posting pictures and little stories to go with them. Look for snippets more often.
Enjoy your evening and happy Monday tomorrow!

Spring Break Snippets-Part 3
Tea and some pretty doesn't hurt.
Having tea every night now. Not replacing coffee just yet, but substituting here and there.
Splurging on store bought flowers. Nice to have flowers around.
Minna has two tea sets now. She has tea time while I cook, and of course when any friends come over. (Colyer pretends he thinks it's "baby-ish" but he always has a cup or two and wants to clink cups and say "cheers", every time. Hope he does it forever.)
Mice like tea too. Don't you forget it.
One more installment of snippets tomorrow.
(Break's over already?)
Cheers!

This Spring-y Moment.

I love how our days are longer now! It's staying light enough to read on our new window seat past 8:00 pm!
Our Spring Break is coming to a close, so I think I am going to share snippets through the weekend.
Have a great one!

Spring Break Snippets-Part 2
Yellow is the word.
Yellow on the table.
And on our heads.
Rather, a Minna Newsboy hat.
Soon to be yellow blinding us in the kitchen.
IF, I can find that perfect yellow.
I am dreaming of yellow and gray.
With colorful mis-matched stools and my Pyrex everywhere.
Crazier things have happened.
Happy Thursday!

Spring Break Snippets-Part 1
I will share some bits of our Spring Break over the next few days. I have so many pictures and stories that just aren't making their way into proper posts these days. So, snippets instead...
Biggest news of all,
EGGS!
One hen out there, amongst approximately eleven, started laying this week. She is giving us the prettiest eggs I have ever seen. Isn't it a beauty?
The first four eggs from our backyard flock were whisked,
mixed and stirred,
and combined with carefully chopped chocolate to make Jeff's birthday cake. We served it after a meal completely planned and prepared by these three chefs. Let me tell you, we were serious in that kitchen!
Except... when we weren't.
Happy Birthday Jeff.
Thanks for being born and for savoring every last bite tonight.

Affirmative.
When your 10 year old, self-proclaimed pre-teen asks to stop at the yarn store for needle felting supplies...
...you say, yessss.
Happy mid-week!
And for some, (us included) Happy Spring Break!
