I want so badly to post a bit more regularly here!
So much to share!
So many pictures!
Maybe it is in the cards. Or, maybe its just meant to be sporadic as usual.
Either way, I will be back next week to share two things...
1. My sweater!
2. The reason that after 11 years, I now how 6 hours of free time per week. (hint-its' because of that big girl with her pups up there.)
Happy weekend to you!

Glimpses Of Our Holiday Out Here...
(Yes, I tend to hug new cookware and beautiful yellow kettles.)
Hope your holiday was as lovely and snowy and bright as ours!
Now for a big grown-up birthday bash (mine).
And an 11th birthday to celebrate (Sully's).
Holiday decor to pack away to make room for a fresh new year.
And more time at home to hug family and friends well into January.
So very lucky out here indeed.

A Week Of Thanks.
This Thanksgiving week, I am posting from my Instagram archive. Pretty easy to see what I am thankful for in my daily life by looking back through it.
So very, very thankful for-
This Pooch
And her two little puppy sisters.
And their 9 hen cousins.
And 3 pretty little pullet cousins.
And 4 bunny friends.
Raising animals has taught us so much.
Fresh eggs have spoiled us.
And... animals are just awesome.
Thank you furry and feathered ones.

Hints Of Halloween And Freakish Occurrences.
Halloween is coming!
Spooky fabrics are being pulled out and used for this and that.
(A couple of bandanas in this case.)
Costumes being dreamed up and pieced together.
I. Can't. WAIT! to finish Minna's and make her wear it for a week straight.
Everyone is trying to scare me.
That's an all year thing really,
but now there are scary props all over the place.
Pumpkin buckets and Halloween packages laying around.
Bats and ghosts still hanging.
My favorite garland yet.
The pumpkin treats!
It was this recipe.
Freakish occurrence #1
The chickens all of a sudden think they can come inside.
When I have the door open, they walk in.
It's kind of a dream come true for me.
But kinda not.
I am cleaning up enough animal droppings
in the house with pups around, ya know what I mean?
Freakish occurrence #2
My house is a hospital.
Minna is sick. (Still not sure with what, exactly.)
Roo was just sick.
And all of Minna's imaginary friends
and cute little babies and creatures are sick too.
A few more days and everyone will be discharged hopefully.
F.O. #3
Ester almost needed to go to the hospital too.
(That's her sweet, trouble maker face on the right.)
She found a dead rat and was eating it. (BARF!)
It gets worse...
She started choking on it!
There was a moment when I was holding her down
trying to grasp the flopping rat tail,
that I thought of my friend
who had to do mouth-to-mouth on his Jack Russell.
Was I prepared to do that?
I don't know.
Glad I didn't have to decide.
I was able to yank the thing out and unblock her airway. (ACK!)
During the panic, I threw it over my shoulder.
She was obviously fine because
she promptly ran to the carcass
and swallowed the yucky thing whole.
It went down easy the second try I guess.
(DOUBLE ACK!)
I hope tomorrow is less freaky.
Have a nice night!

this weekend
A full, full weekend out here! We have pups learning to tolerate a collar, (and growing by the minute!). Hens coming out of their broody trances. A packed dinner table of friends on Friday night. The guest house in use for a day. The banya got fired up. Movie nights and tide pools and bikes and breaks in the rain, ah! I don't want it to end...
Good night, weekend.

One Of Those Weeks...
Last week...
our family out here, grew by two.
We thought long and hard on the perfect doggie-girl names.
Brought them home.
Fell into a good rhythm of...
Outside.
Wrestle match.
Explore.
Cuddle sock monkeys.
Eat.
Sleep.
Wake.
Repeat.
Somehow feeling rested after night wakings for
trips outside and intense wrestling bouts in the dark.
Every. Single. Time.
ESTER
.
She likes to stick by me.
(I don't mind a bit.)
ELKA
Being loved on by our friends.
(She didn't mind a bit.)
It was a great first week home with our new girls.
These kinds of days are good.
